May 2022

The LCMS Northern Illinois District held two nearly identical Ascension Services with Installation of officers elected at The 60th Convention Of The Northern Illinois District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod on May 22, 2022 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, Illinois and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tinley Park, Illinois.

These Spirit-filled gatherings included performing the Rite of Installation for the District President Rev. Dr. Allan Buss by Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison, President of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

The Guest Preacher at both services was Rev. Dr. Thomas Egger, President of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. The text for his sermon focused on the convention theme: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” Colossians 3:16. “Every new cycle of life, every new milestone, and season gives us the opportunity to reflect on things, to start afresh, to take another run…as you do so…Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.”
