Ardella A. Boettcher
June 13, 1932 – May 18, 2022

Teacher – a patient and knowledgeable person who inspires, guides and motivates others. The most skilled encourager, and someone who will show you how to reach for the stars and be the best that you can be. A teacher makes all other occupations possible and makes the world a better place.

A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.

Ardella A. Boettcher, 89 of Belvidere, Illinois went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 18, 2022. Ardella was born June 13, 1932 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Walter and Anna Boettcher. Ardella attended Zion Lutheran grade school and Newell Consolidated High School in Storm Lake, Iowa. She continued her education attending Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Nebraska and River Forest,Illinois. It was during her time at Concordia that she chose to make teaching her life-long career.

Ardella was a dedicated teacher for forty years. She began her career as a first/second grade teacher in Courtland, Minnesota. After two years, she accepted a teaching position in Janesville, Minnesota and taught there from August of 1954 until May of 1957. With these five years of teaching experience, she accepted a position at Immanuel Lutheran School and moved to Belvidere, Illinois during the summer of 1957. Ardella faithfully served the students of Immanuel’s first grade for thirty-five years. Ardella was known by her coworkers to have the “patience of a saint”. She sought to understand each of her student’s learning needs, giving unselfishly of her personal time to help students before and after school.

Ardella also enjoyed gardening and was known for her beautiful flower beds. Ardella had a servant’s heart, serving Jesus through her ministry to her students, their parents, Immanuel Lutheran School, and her church home,Immanuel Lutheran, Belvidere, Illinois.

Ardella is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Anna Boettcher; sister, Joanne Loomis.

Ardella is loved and will be missed by her brother, Everett Boettcher; nieces, Nancy Boettcher, and Barbara Schroeder; and nephew, Allen Boettcher.

A visitation and funeral service will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, Illinois on Thursday, May 26, 2022 with Pastor Keith Richard officiating. The visitation will take place starting at10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the funeral service, burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery, Belvidere, Illinois Memorials in Ardella’s honor may be given toImmanuel Lutheran Church Endowment – School Scholarship Fund (ILC Endowment – School Scholarship Fund).
