The LCMS Northern Illinois District has about a thousand ordained and commissioned church workers that are rostered by The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. They serve as pastors, teachers, principals, deaconesses, directors of Christian education, youth workers, directors of family life, parish nurses, ministers of music and the like in our congregations, schools and charitable/human care ministries. Rev. Donald Becker Called to Glory

Rev. Donald Becker, pastor of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Chicago, 1958-1996, died on Sunday, July 30. He was 89. Services are being planned for August 4 and 5 by Dreschler Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion in Oak Park, Illinois.

Rev. Michael Graham Called to Glory

Rev. Michael Graham, pastor at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Aurora, Illinois, died around midnight on July 11, 2017. Services are planned for Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Aurora.

Rev. Karl W. Schmidt Called to Glory

Rev. Karl W. Schmidt was called to glory on May 17 with services planned for Friday and Saturday, May 19-20, at St. Peter, Arlington Heights.

Christine Yarroll Called to Glory

Commissioned Minister Christine Yarroll died April 29, 2017. Services were held May 5-6 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, Illinois.

St. Louis Seminary Assigns 2 to the NID

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, issued calls to 119 students for assignment as pastors, deaconesses, and vicars or interns in their spring call service on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Two men were assigned to the Northern Illinois District.

Fort Wayne Assigns 2 to Congregations in NID

One vicar and one pastor received assignments April 24 and 25 at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, to serve within the Northern Illinois District.
