Rev. Karl W. Schmidt, 67, was called to glory on May 17. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on Friday, May 19. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday, May 20, with a luncheon to follow.
Pastor Schmidt attended Concordia College, Bronxville, New York, and Concordia Senior College in Fort Wane, Indiana, graduating in 1973. He earned his M.Div. at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1978. He served at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Detroit, 1978-1984, at Luther High School North in Chicago, 1984-1986, and has been at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights since 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine, and daughters Meaghan, Alexandra and Katelyn, as well as other family and friends.
