NOTE: Online purchase of tickets is quick and easy. But for people who don’t use the Internet, or would rather pay with a check or cash, there is a simple solution. Your church can collect funds from individuals, and then purchase the tickets on their behalf.   If you’d like to use this option make sure you clearly designate the person who will receive the funds, purchase the tickets, and then give the tickets to the buyers.)

Schedule a screening in your community

Lutheran congregations nationwide have the opportunity to bring the new, engaging movie about Martin Luther and the Reformation to their local community. Produced by Lutherans, the 108-minute feature film follows the events that sparked the Reformation in 1517 that revolved around Martin Luther. Filmed in historic locations across Europe, this movie brings Martin Luther and the birth of the Protestant Reformation to life. It’s a story every Lutheran will want to revisit in a new way and an opportunity to share those events, in an entertaining way, with others.

Each screening of Martin Luther: The Idea That Changed the World is sponsored by a local congregation or ministry organization that chooses the location and time, does the promotion and inviting, and provides “hosting” for the event.

An online scheduling service (Tugg.com) makes arrangements with the theater the congregation selects, provides the host group with promotion tools, and handles all ticket sales online. All tickets must be purchased in advance; none will be available at the theater. If the required minimum tickets are sold (different for each theater, as is the price), the show will go on. Once a screening is guaranteed, the host organization has opportunity to add another screening if they wish.

On the night of your screening, host duties include checking in or verifying ticketed guests from a list Tugg.com provides. The church also can provide opening and closing remarks to the audience if they wish. Your scheduled movie is open to anyone who seeks out the Martin Luther movie online. These movies are open to the public through Tugg.com so you may indeed have movie guests beyond your own congregation, and, of course, everyone is welcome!
