Keep Praying!

Philippians 1:3-5 ESV
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

On March 7, 2021 Pastor Carlos Catalan was installed at Faith Lutheran Church in Carpentersville. He will serve as a Mission Pastor to the community of Carpentersville.

Pastor Mark Frusti, Pastor at Faith Lutheran Church, has always sought out what the Lord wanted for his small congregation. He instructed those he led to keep praying, and God did indeed bless them! “God showed up…and in a big way” he says of Pastor Catalan’s call to Faith Lutheran Church.

Pastor Catalan will work with Pastor Frusti in supporting Hispanic ministry for their community. Among his responsibilities, Pastor Catalan will lead their Spanish language services and continue to build upon his past service to the LCMS Northern Illinois District.

Pastor Catalan returns to the NID after serving at his call in in Guadalajara, Mexico at Iglesia Luterana Todos Los Santos, All Saints Lutheran Church.

Carpentersville is an extremely ethnically-diverse village. The people who call Carpentersville home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups with people of Hispanic or Latino origin the most prevalent group in Carpentersville, accounting for over 50% of the village’s residents.

You can learn more about ethnic ministry in the NID at nidlcms.org/ethnic-ministry.
