Rev. Karl W. Schmidt was called to glory on May 17 with services planned for Friday and Saturday, May 19-20, at St. Peter, Arlington Heights.

Commissioned Minister Christine Yarroll died April 29, 2017. Services were held May 5-6 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, Illinois.

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, issued calls to 119 students for assignment as pastors, deaconesses, and vicars or interns in their spring call service on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Two men were assigned to the Northern Illinois District.

One vicar and one pastor received assignments April 24 and 25 at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, to serve within the Northern Illinois District.

LEA President Jon Laabs presented the organization’s prestigious Christus Magister award to Rev. William Beckmann on March 5.

Walther Grade School Band program alumni and high school music alumni are invited to participate in an alumni concert with Mr. Richard Rose as he retires.

Pastor Paul Brunner was called to glory on March 21 and visitation and funeral services will be on March 29 and 30.

Dr. Merle Radke, of St. Louis, a commissioned minister and long-time professor at Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Illinois, died on March 8, 2017. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 8, at the university.

Dr. W. James Kirchhoff, a commissioned minister in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) since 1957 and LCMS Northern Illinois District education executive for 23 years, was called to glory on March 1.

Marilyn Lindeman, early leader in Lutheran Early Childhood Education, was called to glory on February 17. Services will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, Illinois, on March 3 and 4.
