Janet May Mauer nee McWherter passed away on May 26, 2020 at the age of 76. Beloved mother of Christopher (Millie) Mauer. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Madison, and Madeleine Mauer. Loving sister of the late Glen McWherter and the late Linda Colona. Member of Salem Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and the Homewood Flossmoor Lions Club. A memorial donation in Janet’s honor may be made to the LWML MITES at LWML NID, PO Box 958012, Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169. Arrangements for her memorial service will be announced at future date, to be determined.

Jan served as LWML District President from 2010-2014 and as their Strategic Plan Facilitator for the last 6 years. As planner she chose the theme for their convention this year–Led by the Spirit.
Jan served on the LCMS Northern Illinois District’s Board of Directors from 2010-2018.

Heavenly Father, provide your peace that passes our understanding to Jan’s children and grandchildren, family and friends. We thank and praise you for allowing her to serve in your kingdom as an ardent LWMLer. Her love for missions and her Lord were always in the forefront of her life. We thank you that her time of pain and suffering is now past and she is home with you. In our Risen Savior’s name we pray. Amen.
