Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, issued calls to 119 students for assignment as pastors, deaconesses, and vicars or interns in its spring call service on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. It’s an exciting day not only for everyone on campus but across the Synod for the congregations, friends and family of the men and women taking this next step in their vocational choices. Two men were assigned to serve in their new positions at area churches beginning this summer in the Northern Illinois District.
Matthew Koenig, of Illinois, received a candidate call to serve as discipleship pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois. He has been serving as an alternate route vicar in the congregation and is now called to be an ordained pastor.
Kyle Wangelin, of Michigan, received assignment to serve his one-year student vicarage at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Congratulations to them both.
