Reverend William T. Chormann, 80, of Marseilles, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Morris Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 22, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles, IL, with Reverend David E. Daniel of Zion Lutheran Church, Ottawa, IL, officiating. Military honors were observed by the Marseilles Honor Guard following the service. Burial was at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park  in Adrian, MI.

William was born on March 19, 1943, in Adrian, MI, to Frederick and Anna (Blohm) Chormann. On September 1, 1962, he married Dorothy Ann Kroeze of Haledon, NJ, who preceded him in death in 2020. They were married for fifty-eight blessed years.

William served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After which, he was employed for many years as an accountant. In 1982, he graduated from Faith Lutheran Seminary in Seattle, WA and was ordained as a Lutheran minister after receiving his MDiv. from Concordia Lutheran Seminary. He retired from the ministry in 2022 after 40 years of dedicated service, ministering to several churches including Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles. Throughout his life, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Mark (Lynn) Chormann of Marseilles and Julie (Tim) Pelletier of Vero Beach, FL; his two grandchildren, Heather and Riley Chormann; a brother, Richard Chormann of Empire, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dottie; one brother; and six sisters.
