Reverend Julio Orozco fell asleep in Christ on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
He was a faithful husband and father. He was born in Columbia, South America and received a Bachillerat from the University of Medellin in Columbia in 1962. He later received his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield in 1972 and his Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield in 1973.
Reverend Orozco retired from the pastoral ministry in 2003. Throughout his pastoral ministry, he served at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Queens, NY, St. Andrew’s Lutheran in Hialeah, FL, Cristo el Salvador in Hialeah, FL, and most recently Tabor Lutheran in Chicago, IL. He also worked part-time with NID Hispanic Evangelism.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
