On July 7, 2024, Reverend Lawrence Ruger was ordained and installed as Associate Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Matteson, Illinois.
In 1994, Pastor Ruger received an undergraduate degree in radio. He was employed part-time in
that field, while also working for 32 years in multiple roles at PepsiCo. He retired from PepsiCo in February of 2022 to pursue full-time ministry. He recently participating in the Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) program through Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He plans to eventually continue his education in a program called SMP to GPC (General Pastoral Certification).
Pastor Ruger has been married to his wife, Cheryl, since 2008 and together they have six children and one grandchild.
