June 2017

Tim Hetzner, president and CEO of Lutheran Church Charities, is pleased to announce that Rev. Joshua Gale has accepted a call to serve as executive director at LCC starting June 1, 2017. Originally from Danville, Illinois, Rev. Gale most recently served as missionary in Lima, Peru, for the LCMS Office of International Mission and as executive director of Castillo Fuerte—Casa de Misericordia in Lima, since 2013. Prior to that, he was mission developer with Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries and vicar with Umbrella of Hope in Gary, Indiana.

“I am excited to have Josh join the LCC team as we work with churches to reach out into their communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Hetzner.

Rev. Gale’s passion for urban ministry and cross-cultural outreach directly supports LCC’s mission of bringing Mercy, Compassion, Presence and Proclamation of Jesus Christ to those suffering and in need, both nationally and internationally.

Gale’s extensive work in the Lutheran non-profit sector includes street level ministry in under-served communities affected by poverty, homelessness, and addiction by planting churches in conjunction with mercy houses to help individuals and families.

Rev. Gale, his wife Amanda, and their two children have relocated to Northbrook, Illinois, where LCC has its offices and ministry center for parish-based human care, disaster relief training and response, and the LCC K9 and Kare9 Military Comfort Dog ministries.
