Rev. Dr. Mark Birkholz was installed as Sole Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Naperville Illinois on September 19, 2021.
Pastor Birkholz received his MDiv from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 2004, followed by a Mth in 2005 from Australian Lutheran College, and his PhD from Trinity Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois in 2013.
His first call was to Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn, Illinois in 2008 were he served as Sole Pastor until receiving his call to Zion Lutheran Church.
He married Amberleigh in 2008 and they now have two children, Zachary and Elizabeth who are both home schooled.
Pastor Birkholz has served on the Northern Illinois Board of Directors (until his call at Zion), the NID Floor Committee, and the General and Regional Pastors’ Conferences. He also serves with the Faith, Hope, and Peace Ministries Community Partnership.
