Rev. Arthur J. Constien, age 83 of Maywood, passed away on July 2, 2018.
Beloved husband of Edith nee Koltermann for 60 years. Loving father of Laura (Norman) Burdick, Kay (Robert) Frey, Rev. David (Christine) Constien and Joanne (Scott) Duffer. Cherished grandfather of Michelle (Sean) Neilson, Mark Burdick, Robert Frey, Rebecca Frey, Jeffrey Constien, Gregory Constien, Caitlin Constien, Brianna Duffer and Erin Duffer. Dearest great grandfather of Jack.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 14, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1025 W. Lake Street, Melrose Park, Illinois 60160. Burial will be private at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Rev. Constien served St. Paul Lutheran Church in Melrose Park from 1966 – 1997, the Association of Lutheran Older Adults from 1997 – 2002 and the Triton College RSVP program ESL classes from 2004 – 2017. Rev. Constien spent his life giving to others through his ministry and will be greatly missed by all whom were blessed to know him.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the church of your choice, the Chicago Food Depository, the NID Prison Ministries or Lutheran World Relief, all of which were near and dear to him.
