Rev. Adam Dietrich was called to eternal glory on October 31, 2017, the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation. He know and enjoys his Sabbath rest in paradise with Christ his Lord and Savior.
Rev. Adam Dietrich was a loving husband to Marlene, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Marlene, children, Ruth Elizabeth, Paul Daniel, Ann Michal, Mary Rebekah (Jerel) Fortkamp. and Joel Andrew (Alicia); grandchildren Bill, Adam, Joshua, Andrew, Sophie, Aaron and Luke. Rev. Dietrich was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother John Dietrich and son Mark Jonathan Dietrich.
Rev. Dietrich served his Lord as a pastor and teacher in the Chicago area for nearly 54 years. He was Pastor at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. He served as Chairman of the Theology Department at Luther High School South, Chaplain at Michael Reese Hospital & Mercy Hospital, and filled pastoral vacancies. Rev. and Mrs. Dietrich are members of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Beecher, Illinois, where their son, Joel, is Pastor.
He graduated In 1965 from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Illinois with a B.D. degree and in 1972 with a M.Div. degree. He earned a M.A. degree in Education from Concordia University Chicago, River Forest in 1969.
Visitation will be held first at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 1407 West Church Road, Beecher, Illinois on Thursday, November 9, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will then be held at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 West 94th Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois, Friday, November 10, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rev. Adam Dietrich will lie in state on Saturday, November 11, from 9 a.m. until the service of Christian Burial begins at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Lawn.
