May 2022
The Board of Directors of the LCMS Northern Illinois District has approved the relocation of the District’s office currently located in Hillside, Illinois.

The approval authorizes the relocation to a property located on the campus of Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois. The anticipated relocation date is early August 2022.

“The NID is entering a new season with bolder and deeper desire to be connected to where the mission and ministry of Jesus happens, in congregations, schools, RSOs, and the communities God has planted us. The Harvest is ripe and ready and we are, as the Church, ambassadors of Christ’s work and word in Northern Illinois and beyond.”

Our relocation to the campus of Concordia University Chicago gives us the opportunity to model partnership which is the way of the future for a dynamic and engaging church. It’s exciting. We will remain independent organizations, but bound to the Word, our Lutheran Confessions, and mission of Jesus. Several other districts of the LCMS have such partnerships including Michigan and Pacific Southwest with their local Concordias. Interestingly, several other LCMS districts have or are considering relocation in conversations I had at recent Council of Presidents meetings.” – Rev. Dr. Allan R. Buss, President, LCMS Northern Illinois District.

The move stems from a result of a Task Force on Stewardship of District Resources established out of Resolution 2-07 from the LCMS Northern Illinois District 59th Convention. The committee was tasked to examine a number of topics including, but not limited to, the stewardship of maintaining the current District office building.

The District had owned the building at 2301 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL, since 1979 until its recent sale announced earlier this year.
WELLNESS: Promoting and encouraging health and vitality in congregations, schools, ministries, professional workers and lay-leaders.
