March 2017

“Saved to Serve” is the theme of the sixth annual men’s retreat for fathers and sons hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church of Belvidere, Illinois. Sons must be at least 11 years old to attend.

This year’s April 21-23, 2017, retreat will again be held at Camp LuWiSoMo in southern Wisconsin. Camp LuWiSiMo covers 380 acres on the shore of Round Lake, five miles east of Wild Rose, Wisconsin. It is an LCMS camp founded by the Lutheran Laymen’s League of the LCMS South Wisconsin District more than 50 years ago.

The weekend begins with an optional Friday Work Day at the camp (Thursday night complimentary lodging included). Everyone is encouraged to arrive in time for Friday night’s Pig Pickin supper that begins at 6 p.m. The evening program of introductions, prayer and singing around the campfire gets underway at 7 p.m.

The Saturday retreat program begins with a group session followed by a day of activity choices for fathers and sons together. It concludes with another group session in the evening. The retreat speaker is Rev. David Reimnitz, of Kansas City, Mo., who also will lead the worship service on Sunday morning.

The retreat cost is $100 per person. To request a brochure, register or ask a question, contact DylanALarsen@gmail.com or call the Immanuel, Belvidere, church office at 815-544-8058.
