On October 23, 2023, Concordia University Chicago welcomed Rev. Simeon Raddatz as its new University Pastor.

The installation, presided over by Rev. Dr. Allan R. Buss, President of LCMS Northern Illinois District, was attended by students, faculty, and family. The installation service included a sermon delivered by his father, Rev. Mark Raddatz.

In his new capacity, Rev. Raddatz will serve Concordia University Chicago’s community. His responsibilities encompass a wide array of roles, including overseeing all campus worship services, providing pastoral care and counseling to students, faculty, and staff, and facilitating a myriad of spiritual life activities. Moreover, director of the pre-seminary program, nurturing future leaders within the faith.

Born in Hickory, North Carolina, he attended Concordia University Chicago, where he enrolled in the esteemed pre-seminary program. Rev. Raddatz earned his Master of Divinity degree in 2017 at Concordia Seminary St. Louis. During his vicarage he served the community of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City, New York.

In 2017, Rev. Raddatz received his first pastoral call to Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, Illinois, where he served as the sole pastor.

He is married to Lauren, an alumna of Concordia University Chicago, Together and they are parents of four children.
