At 10 a.m., Sunday, February. 10, 2019, Rev. Nick Mullen was installed as pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1244 W. Army Trail Road, Carol Stream, Illinois.
Rev. Gerald Schalk (retired) from St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Barrington was the guest preacher for the worship service. Rev. Jerry Hays N5 Circuit Visitor and Senior Pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schaumburg presided over the installation ceremony. Afterward, there was a luncheon for 200 people in the Ministry Activity Center.
“I’m excited to be part of a new beginning at Our Savior,” said Mullen.
Mullen came to Our Savior in 2014 as an associate pastor. Previously, he served as associate pastor at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
A 2011 graduate of Concordia Seminary St. Louis, Mullen is a 2004 graduate of Valparaiso University, Indiana with an undergraduate degree in psychology. He spent a year with Youth Encounter, a music ministry which enabled him to travel to churches throughout the Midwest.
Mullen and his wife, Kirsten, have three young children – Lilly, 6; Toby, 4, and Lochie, 10 months.
