The winter edition of Our Northern Illinois District will be distributed around the District beginning this February.

We are excited to announce Our Northern Illinois District, a quarterly magazine publication of the LCMS Northern Illinois District. In support of the District’s overall mission, the magazine’s goals are to equip, encourage and empower congregations, church workers, and church members to connect with people in their communities who do not yet know about Jesus, along with supporting our congregations and church workers in the doctrine and policies of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

The inaugural issue centers around partnerships: how we as individuals, congregations, schools, community organizations, and New Starts…New Believers can work together with one another through the blessings of the Holy Spirit. It will be available in print quarterly beginning this February while all stories which would have been found in The Northern Light can be found daily on this website.

It is with great thanksgiving to God and the community of the Northern Illinois District that we announce this publication and celebrate the ministries detailed therein.

Print editions are delivered free to our donors, ministry partners, district congregations and schools, and church and school workers. We are grateful for, and want to share this publication with those who support the content. You are invited to partner with us through prayer and donations.

Prayerfully considered donations which will be used for revitalization in our congregations, new visioning and planning, and small grants to help launch new starts to meet real needs in the community can be made here.

If you would like to register for a subscription to the magazine, you may submit your name and address here.

As we embark upon the first year of this magazine, we pray for the Holy Spirit’s continued guidance to develop a publication which can be used as a tool to inspire relationship building with those who do not yet know about Jesus.
