Rev. Dr. John and Monique Nunes

Rev. Dr. John and Monique Nunes will be guest speakers at a Reformation 500 kick-off event being held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Belvidere, Illinois. Save the date because everyone is invited.

The Nunes are well-known in the Lutheran world. He is most recently the president of Concordia College, in Bronxville, N.Y., and she is director of International Programs at Martin Luther School in New York. They moved to New York in 2016 from Valparaiso University in Indiana, where Dr. Nunes was the Emil and Elfriede Jochum Chair and Monique worked in campus ministry and was the associate director for the Office of Multicultural Programs.

This regional gathering will be a rally and celebration in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. There will be a time for fellowship and refreshments following the rally.

The rally is at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017. The church is located at 1045 Belvidere Road. The event is public and area congregations of the LCMS Northern Illinois District are especially encouraged to attend.
