September 2017

It is a time of celebration at The Northern Illinois District office. With heartfelt thanks, we congratulate Jackie Bussert, Communications Manager, and Dale Kuhfahl, Business Manager and Treasurer, on their careers served with great care and stewardship. At the same time, we cheerfully welcome new faces to our team and family.

Kuhfahl passed the torch to LeeAnn Acosta who has joyfully taken over the Business Manager role. Likewise, on September 1st, Bussert welcomed Ann Ciaccio into her former position. Ciaccio is transitioning into a new role in the office, while Sarah Chew, a Concordia University Chicago student, will be interning, with her guidance, as an editor and writer.

LeeAnn Acosta exclaims that she is “excited to be a part of the District office, which has a heart for its congregations and missions” as she becomes the Northern Illinois District’s Business Manager. Acosta is well-prepared for the role; she has excellent professional and personal experience in leadership. Acosta has worked as an audit manager for a public accounting firm, office manager for a law firm, and served as Treasurer for Lord of Life in LaFox, Illinois where she and her husband, George, are active members. Further, she truly knows what it means to lead with grace and a can-do attitude; she home-schooled her six children for many years, speaking of it as “so fun!”

Ann Ciaccio who has worked at the office as an Advancement Communications Assistant for the past six years is changing desks, and roles, as she moves into her new position as Director of Communications. She will also now serve as a member of the president’s leadership and advisory team as well as supervisor and guide to the editing and writing intern. Ciaccio is eager to further develop the communications plan in order to broaden the awareness of the New Starts… New Believers mission and vision of the Northern Illinois District.

Most recently, we have welcomed Sarah Chew, a Concordia University Chicago senior, to our team. Chew will be our editing and writing intern for the year. Passionate about photojournalism and telling stories of the sometimes overlooked portraits of good in everyday life, she is thrilled to be joining us and telling the stories of New Starts… New Believers.

All three ladies bring unique, God-given talents and servant hearts excited to share the Good News of the Lord while working to facilitate the mission of the District. It is a joy to have each of the ladies on our team, and we rejoice in the Lord for bringing them to us.
