A new Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) has been announced by Concordia University Chicago’s College of Business. The first cohort will begin in March 2017, and there is a discount for LCMS members enrolling.

This is a 60-credit doctorate, focusing on developing global leaders and with your choice of two specializations: Leadership and Innovation, and Innovation in Health Care. The courses are online, with three face-to face, four-day residencies in order to build community and offer support to ensure program completion.

Members of a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation are eligible for a 20% discount.

Full details of the program are available on the Concordia University Chicago website.

The DBA was designed by distinguished faculty from the College of Business who have experience working with doctoral business students. It has been approved by the Higher Learning Commission, which is the regional higher education accrediting organization in 19 Midwest and South-Central states. The University’s College of Business, founded in 2007, now offers a complete program of business studies to its students: B.S. and B.A. degrees in Business Administration, Master’s in Business Administration and now Doctorate in Business Administration. \

“Our goal is to prepare students to improve the global society they serve through an academically rigorous and relevant business education,” said Dr. Claudia Santin, dean of the College of Business, who spearheaded the development of the degree. “Offering the doctoral program in business administration improves the abilities of our students to handle more complex assignments and attain increased recognition associated with their increased professional capacities. This, in turn, will lead to improved recruitment and greater satisfaction among our faculty and students.”

The DBA is unique in that students will have access to their course instructors and to their dissertation committee members during their program of study. Each student will also be assigned a faculty member who will mentor them one-on-one, as a critical friend and coach throughout their enrollment. The goal is to help advance students’ academic and professional goals, research agenda, and to encourage candidate retention and program completion.

Students pursuing the DBA will have a competitive advantage when looking for careers in consulting, teaching or serving in senior leadership positions within global organizations.
