August 2017
A newly formed Bible Study Group for moms will take place Fridays, beginning September 15, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 7214 South Cass Avenue, Darien, Illinois. It will be facilitated by Deaconess Phaedra Serbus, a wife, a mother and Director of Youth Ministries at St. John Lutheran Church.
This is the perfect opportunity for moms to network with local moms while gaining support, encouragement and equipping from God’s Word for their vocation as parent. It will be time well-spent in nurturing yourself so you can better nurture a healthy family. Invite a friend to join you with this Flyer. It is open to community moms as well as those associated with our church and preschool
The group will begin by looking at a book called Grace-Based Parenting by Dr. Tim Kimmel, founder of Family Matters Ministries. Are you committed to but anxious about your child-rearing responsibilities? The meeting will look at a refreshing new style of parenting that mirrors God’s love, reflects His forgiveness, and displaces fear as a motivator for behavior. As we embrace the grace God offers, we begin to give it and create a solid foundation for growing morally strong and spiritually motivated children.
Those interested in attending are asked to register at www.sjlcdarien.org/events/moms-connect.html. You may also call Deaconess Serbus at 630-969-7987 or email her at phaedra.serbus@sjlcdarien.org.
This is an ongoing group so moms are invited to enroll at any time.
