Fall Gathering Features Author of ‘Pew Sisters’
Women of the Northern Illinois District are invited to an LWML Fall Gathering at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, Illinois, on Saturday, October 7, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gathering theme is “Showing Mercy,” and the day will include a light breakfast, Bible study, a box lunch, worship and fellowship.
An ingathering will benefit the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center Outpatient Clinic. Collection items include all sizes of new men’s pants (jeans and Dockers style), and men’s belts and shoes.
The keynote speaker will be author Katie Schuermann, who describes herself as “a baptized child of God, pastor’s wife, godmother, daughter, sister, aunt, first soprano, tree climber, bread baker, raspberry picker, herb gardener and daydreamer.”
She is the author of He Remembers the Barren (EP, 2017), Pew Sisters (CPH 2013), and the Anthems of Zion series: House of Living Stones (CPH, 2014), The Choir Immortal (CPH, 2015), and her newest, The Harvest Raise (CPH, 2017). She will present on the topic “Pew Sisters: Showing Mercy in Christ.”
