Faithful ministry depends on many hands working together, and Tina Nepomuceno is grateful to use her gifts to support the mission of the LCMS Northern Illinois District.
As the District’s Accounting Associate, Tina manages many of the day-to-day financial responsibilities that help keep ministry moving forward. From accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable to assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, and the annual audit process, her work provides the behind-the-scenes support that allows the District to faithfully serve congregations, schools, ministries, and church workers.
Tina joined the Northern Illinois District staff in January 2023 after a distinguished 22-year career at Concordia University Chicago. During her time there, she advanced from Staff Accountant to Senior Accountant before serving as Director of Budget Services. Her years of experience, combined with her commitment to excellence, prepared her well for her current role serving the District.
Family is one of God’s greatest blessings in Tina’s life. She and her husband, Mario, have been married for 38 years. Mario serves with the United States Postal Service, and together they have one son, Mark Anthony, who lives in Houston with his wife, Barae, and their two young sons, Michael Noel and Marcus Joel. Tina treasures the opportunity to spend time with her growing family and celebrate God’s many blessings.
One of Tina’s favorite aspects of serving the District is the people she serves alongside each day. She appreciates being part of a dedicated, Christ-centered team that encourages and supports one another while faithfully serving the congregations, schools, and ministries of the Northern Illinois District. Beginning each staff meeting in God’s Word is a meaningful reminder that their work is rooted not only in service, but in a shared faith and mission.
A Bible passage that has continually encouraged Tina is Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” She finds peace in bringing every concern, worry, and thanksgiving before the Lord, trusting that He hears every prayer and faithfully guides each step. That confidence reminds her that, whatever the circumstances, God remains in control as her loving Father.
Tina’s journey into church work began when she was drawn to the mission and vision of Concordia University Chicago. She saw an opportunity to use her professional gifts in service to God while supporting the education and formation of future church leaders. After more than two decades at Concordia, she considered retirement and volunteer service before learning about an opening with the Northern Illinois District. Looking back, Tina believes God was faithfully guiding her to continue serving His Church in a new way.
For Tina, every budget, financial report, and accounting task is an opportunity to support something much larger than numbers. Through faithful stewardship and a servant’s heart, she is grateful to play a role in advancing Christ’s Kingdom across the LCMS Northern Illinois District.
