On Sunday, June 9, Julian LaMie was ordained and installed as pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Beecher, Illinois.
Julian was born in Watseka, Illinois and lived in the small town of St. Anne through second grade, after which, he moved to Woodworth, Illinois where he spent the rest of his childhood and adolescence. He is a product of Lutheran schools having attended Lutheran Schools from third grade through seminary.
During his time at Concordia University Chicago, he did a study-abroad program for a semester at The Westfield House of Theological Studies in Cambridge, UK. where he met Juli, his wife to be.
Julian and Juli married in August of 2015. Their first son, Gabriel, was born the following September in Cambridge, England.
After returning to the U.S., Julian started his Vicarage at St. John Lutheran Church in East Moline, Illinois (Quad Cities). In July 2018, they moved to St. Louis to finish seminary and prepare for a call. They also were waiting for their second son, Paulo, to be born in April 2019. On May 1, he received the call to St. John Lutheran Church and moved to Beecher on June 3, where he was ordained and installed on June 9.
They are very happy about their call at St. John and are looking forward to getting to know the saints at St. John, building relationships in the community, and bringing God’s word and sacraments to his people. Please welcome them to the LCMS Northern Illinois District!
