March 2017

God has uniquely gifted each congregation to serve where he has planted them. With his guidance and blessings, every ministry’s “five loaves and two fish” can feed the thousands in our communities, spiritually and sometimes even physically. To assist congregations in seeing opportunities for ministry as well as gaining practical skills to accomplish new things, a free conference is being held in the Midwest on Wednesday to Friday, October 11-13, 2017.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana, will host this event in which various congregations and ministries will share “Best Practices for Ministry.” While this fall conference shares goals with the Best Practices winter conference held in Phoenix, this is the “Heartlands” version. Congregations in the LCMS districts surrounding Indiana, including Northern Illinois, can save expenses by being within driving distance. And the registration and food during the conference are FREE.

The Best Practices Heartland Conference is for pastors, other called workers, and for lay volunteers. Save the dates now: Wednesday to Friday, October 11-13. Check the website frequently as conference details and the speaker lineup are added: bestpracticesheartland.com.
