Friends of Lutheran World Relief (FLWR) encourages all congregations in the Chicago-land area to bring their Quilts and Kits to any of the following sites on Saturday, October 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and/or on Sunday, October 7 from 12 p.m. to 3 pm. This annual Fall Ingathering (provided for over 30 years) is a coordinated service to area Lutheran congregations through FLWR and Lutheran World Relief (LWR) in Baltimore, Maryland.
An exciting service provided by LWR headquarters is the Quilt & Kit Tracker system. Follow the journey of your gifts of love as they make their way around the world. Visit lwr.org/tracker for printable instructions and a Quilt & Kit Tracker video tutorial! It is quite simple to print out special bar code labels to place on your boxes of Quilts and Kits. Then track your items online as they travel overseas to people in need!

Items Accepted:
Quilts, Fleece Tied Blankets, School Kits, Personal Care Kits, Baby Care Kits, Fabric Kits, and new bars of soap in original wrapper [bath-size preferred, other sizes accepted].
Packing Notes:
40 lb limit per box; please use strong cartons secured with packing tape. Label the contents in large block letters. Do not mix contents (all Quilts, or all Personal Care Kits, etc.) Please bring to the Ingathering site a tally count of the items donated. Visit lwr.org/pack for details.
Year Round Donation:
Congregations can respond to Lutheran World Relief’s appeal for Quilts and Kits year-round. Items may be brought to the Church of the Brethren, 1451 Dundee Avenue (Route 25), Elgin, IL 60120 (847.742.5100); Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 11:30 am and 1:00 to 3:30 P.M. (best to call the day before). Please label all boxes clearly with the contents, your congregation’s name and address and “Lutheran World Relief.”
