As we invited members of the LCMS Northern Illinois District to share what is on their heart, several common themes emerged. Their requests reflect a deep desire for faithfulness to God’s Word, care for His people, and bold witness in our communities and the world.

God’s people continue to pray that hearts would be rooted in Scripture, faith would grow, and more people would come to know Jesus Christ. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” —Psalm 119:105

• That we hold carefully to the Word of God
• That we keep the main thing (the Gospel) the main thing
• That all may know Jesus and want a relationship with Him
• To kindle a fire to share His Word
• To let his Kingdom come to our hearts and His will be done through our lives
• That members and visitors be moved to deeper faith

WORD: Helping congregations be more centered on a rich life of Word and Sacrament, with congregational support in transitions, as well as time of joys and sorrows.
