Bethesda Lutheran Communities and Hope Lutheran Church, Shorewood, Illinois, are pleased to announce the installation and commissioning of Judith Ann Wierman as the Eastern Regional Director of Religious Life for Bethesda Lutheran Communities. In this role, Wierman provides leadership support to 10 ministry consultants across the eastern half of the United States, working from her home in Plainfield, Illinois.

Bethesda is a Registered Service Organization (RSO) of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and provides homes and other services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live the lives they want. There are 14 such homes in the LCMS Northern Illinois District.

Bethesda’s Religious Life Team offers faith supports and works collaboratively to make connections that benefit the people supported by Bethesda, staff and congregations. The team provides training and education to equip congregations, church leaders and other religious organizations to promote the importance of spiritual support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Together with partners, Bethesda helps the people supported and their families connect and fully participate in the life of the Christian community of their choice.

Wierman has been a member of Hope Lutheran Church since 2001 and remains very active in the life of the congregation. She graduated from the deaconess program at Concordia Theological Seminary in August 2014 and began working for Bethesda in October 2015.

Please contact Judy Wierman to learn about options to include people of all abilities in the life of your congregation, volunteer opportunities or employment openings. Additionally, Bethesda always welcomes the opportunity to talk with you about estate planning options and endowments. You can reach Deaconess Wierman at Judith.wierman@mailblc.org.
