Ronald “Ron” Alfred Hoffmann, 87, of St. Charles, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, surrounded by his family at home in St. Charles, IL. He was born May 2, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN. The son of the late, Alfred and Adele (nee. Am End) Hoffmann. He was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Ostermann on September 2, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN.

He was a Lutheran school educator for thirty-years and ended his career at Valley Lutheran High School in St. Charles. He was US Army, Retired from the 863rd Engineer Battalion under 416th Engineer Command.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth M. Hoffmann; his three sons, Mark (Karen) Hoffmann, Robert (Jo Ellen) Hoffmann and Thomas (Dianne) Hoffmann; his eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Kathleen) Hoffmann, Dr. Jennifer Hoffmann, KellyAnn (Craig) Reese, Joshua Hoffmann, Haley Hoffmann, Leah Hoffmann, Kathryn Hoffmann and Joseph Hoffmann; four great grandchildren, Jennifer, James, Andrew and Timothy Reese, one brother, Richard (Dona) Hoffmann, and one sister, Carol (late Allan) Gustafson, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m until 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Rd., Batavia, IL. 60510. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at the church. Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
