Pastor Frank Charles Ciprys, age 80, of Rockford and formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2023. Born in Chicago on October 9, 1942 to Frank John and Rena Ciprys (Carlson). Frank attended grade school at St. Paul School, then attended two years at Concordia High School in Milwaukee, WI, and graduated from West High School in 1960. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and went on to work at Ingersoll Machine Tools of Rockford for 30 years. A devoted Christian and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Frank served as Vicar under Pastor Thies and as Pastor from 2012 until present. He was also President of Education at St. Paul’s and headed the Board of Elders and Greeters. He enjoyed long walks, board games, collecting stamps, and tinkering in his garden. Most of all, Frank loved spending time with his family, his true pride and joy. Beloved husband, father, grandpa, and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie J. Ciprys (Johnson); children, Frank Ciprys (Angela) and Nikki Ciprys Ruger (Rick); grandson, Maxton Ruger; and Kathy, Tiffany, William, and many special family, friends, and loved ones. He is predeceased by his parents.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4881 Kilburn Ave., Rockford, IL 61101. Funeral Services held Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment and Military Honors at 2:30 p.m. at the Walworth Cemetery, Walworth, WI.
