Early on Thanksgiving morning, November 25, 2021, our Lord called Pastor Eugene Wille to rest in his Savior’s arms. Pastor Wille faithfully served the community as pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere for nearly four decades, then continuing on as a member of the congregation for decades beyond that.
Visitation will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1225 E 2nd St., Belvidere, IL 61008, on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Rev. Wille graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin and received his MDiv from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sulphur, Louisiana and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Belvidere, Illinois until his retirement in 2002.
