Glenn R. Mahnke, age 78, of Marengo, Illinois passed away peacefully on Thursday, April, 24, 2025.
Born October 16, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Glenn was the son of Raymond and Leona (Baerman) Mahnke. He was a man of
many passions – an avid home brewer, a driving enthusiast, and a devoted home cook who found joy in sharing meals with family and friends. Above all, his greatest passion was joyfully playing the organ for over 40 years, bringing the love of Christ through music to various congregations.
He is survived by his children Joy (Nathan) Frieling of Texas, Liesl (Jim) Christle of St. Charles, Illinois, Gretchen (Joe) Vespa of Wisconsin, and Dr. Amanda Mahnke (fiancé Mike Fauslo); his grandchildren, Boaz, Lydia, and Abel Frieling and Jameson and Elliott Christle, and many dear relatives and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Wayne and Richard), and his beloved wife, Marie
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 535 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin, Illinois 60123.
