Ingeborg Louise Teske, age 82, was called home to Jesus on September 14, 2021.

Inge began her affiliation with St. James, Chicago as a first grader attending the school. She attended Waller High School (now Lincoln Park High School). In 1970 she graduated from DePaul University, returned to St. James as a teacher, and founded the kindergarten program.

After receiving her Master’s Degree in 1981, she became the director of the Early Childhood Center at Concordia University Chicago. Ingeborg became a Commissioned Minister through colloquy in 1987. Upon her retirement from Concordia in 2001, Ingeborg once again returned to St. James to develop the preschool program. She served as the Director of Early Childhood Education until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the German-American Singers of Chicago. Ingeborg is survived by her husband of 61 years, Otto, her sons Walter (Debbie) and Erich (Janice), sister Anneliese Kroll, her six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her service will be this Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m. The visitation and service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 2101 N. Fremont St., Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. James Lutheran School or Misericordia Home are appreciated.
