The ‘Hearts for Jesus’ mission project this school year will be the Belize Mission Society Mercy House Program.
The Belize Mission Society is proud to be in partnership with the LCMS Northern Illinois District. And, our work together is supported by Resolution 3-02 from the District’s 2022 Convention: Adoption of Belize as the Northern Illinois District’s international mission focus. We are many faces, but one faith. Serving the people of Belize for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Mercy House will provide the village of Seine Bight a new location for the dental clinic, medical exam room, meeting space, storage for supplies and the feeding program will be located downstairs to allow for more space and better visibility for Miss Harriet as she cares for the students.
Mercy House Program
From Cathy Dulgar, Executive Director, Belize Mission Society: I knew that the vision of Mercy House was being led by the Holy Spirit from the beginning. This vision has been on the hearts of the Board of Directors for some time now. The Belize Mission Society has been serving the village of Seine Bight since 2003 with the first VBS. Over the years we have built close relationships with the leaders in the village and the school. After asking Chairman Jose (similar to a mayor) if it would be pleasing to the village to build Mercy House, he commented, “The BMS has been coming to our community for nearly 20 years. It is time for you to have a footprint in Seine Bight. Yes, it is pleasing because we know that Mercy House is for our community.” Mercy House will provide the village of Seine Bight a new location for the dental clinic, medical exam room, meeting space, storage for supplies and the feeding program will be located downstairs to allow for more space and better visibility for Miss Harriet as she cares for the students. All of the BMS relational mercy care will point directly to Christ Lutheran Church. We are building a Lutheran Campus in Belize.
